Bloom, Spring 2022

Leading up to and during the making of this series, I had so much going on outside of my painting. My mind was pulled in several directions both physically and creatively. I could see the work I wanted to create in my head, sometimes waking up in the night with visions of paint strokes or color combinations. Remnants of what I saw in my head when falling asleep or just before I woke, wanting to capture it on the canvas immediately. I experimented with new shapes and techniques - some worked, some were scrapped. I pushed to accept and let go when things weren’t working and instead putting the effort into what was, giving it space, letting it evolve, grow and bloom.
